I’m pleased to announce that the next Le Cordon Bleu World Food Media Awards will be presented in Adelaide in May 2010 as part of Tasting Australia.
These will be our seventh awards, and I’m delighted that we have the continuing, enthusiastic support of our naming rights sponsor, Le Cordon Bleu. Over the past decade the World Food Media Awards has made its mark as the most comprehensive international competition of its kind, recognising excellence across a wide range of food, drink broadcasting and publishing and with more than 4,000 entries having been received to date.
These awards, where gold “Ladles” are presented, provide recognition in a large variety of food, drink broadcasting and publishing, from books and magazines to journalism and photography, TV and the internet. Acknowledging the need to be truly comprehensive, and in response to demand from food and drink professionals, there will be four new categories in 2010: Best Radio Food and/or Drink Segment or Programme; Best Health/Nutrition Writer; Best Website Blog; and best Food and/or Drink stylist.
In the 2010 competition there are 24 categories in which awards will be made. In addition to the gold ladle recipients, a number of short-listed nominees will be recognised and entitled to display 2010 Le Cordon Bleu World Food Media Awards insignia to further promote their work.
Works eligible for entry in the next competition must have been published or broadcast between June 2, 2007 and January 31, 2010. After the closing date for entries of February 5, 2010, an international panel of food, wine and media professionals will begin the task of judging the entries. Following judging, the public announcement of nominees will take place in March, 2010.
You are cordially invited to take part and we look forward to receiving your entry or entries during the coming months.
